Explore. Create. Discover.
Step into the world of imagination and creativity at Nichols School’s Young Scholars Workshop—a free, hands-on academic event designed for curious students in grades 3–6 who do not currently attend Nichols.
This spring’s experience features our Literature Labyrinth, an engaging series of rotating sessions that bring language and storytelling to life.
Guided by Nichols faculty and community partners, students will explore workshops such as:
Poetry in Play – dynamic poetry performance and interactive storytelling
Art as Text – illuminated letter creation inspired by literature
Galactic Quills & Dragon Scrolls – sci-fi and fantasy writing lab
Math OPERA-tions – the drama of math and the order of operations
Breaking News! Natural Disaster – write and present your own fictional science news
Talking Leaves & Story Magic – storytime and book browsing with Talking Leaves Books
Star Jars, Centering Jars – mindfulness and story-sharing inspired by When You Trap a Tiger
Native American Code Talkers – a historical look at the power of language in wartime
Guess the Riddle – write a personification poem from a playful point of view
While students explore, parents and guardians are invited to enjoy refreshments, connect with Nichols staff, browse a curated book sale, or relax in one of our cozy community spaces.
Spots are limited and fill quickly. Reserve your child's seat today and let them discover what it feels like to learn with excitement, encouragement, and purpose.
Bonus! Current Nichols 5th and 6th graders are welcome to attend—when they register a non-Nichols friend.
“Young Scholars Workshop was a great way to give prospective students more insight into the Nichols community. I appreciated the opportunity for Emma to have different touch points with the school, which has helped her and our family make an informed choice. Great job!”
