The girls prep hockey team had an exciting season! Back to a pre-covid strength schedule, the team competed in the NAPHA and CISAA leagues. The Vikings hosted a NAPHA weekend where they went 2-2. Mid-season, the team won the Hill School Tournament with victories over Hill School and Vermont Academy and turned around five days later and swept a NAPHA weekend, 4-0. They had an exciting Northwood Tournament going 2-2, unfortunately losing in the finals to Northwood. The girls also competed for the NAPHA Championship, losing to Gilmour in the finals. The season wrapped up with a CISAA quarter final win over Havergal College and a semi-final loss to eventual champions Crestwood Prep. Kiersten Smith ’24 was the Most Valuable Player. Julia Peters ’23 was named All-WNY Scholar-Athlete. Julia Peters ‘23, Brynn Bacak ‘25, Ava Varecka ‘24 all received Coaches Awards. Cecelia Stewart ’25 was the Most Improved Player. The team will miss senior captain Julia Peters’ leadership and talent!
