Upper School Science - Physics
Nichols School seeks a full-time science teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2025-26 academic year. The ideal candidate will have a background and experience in teaching physical sciences and who is comfortable with Physics. The successful candidate will be able to use science as a springboard for higher-level critical and creative thinking and will embrace the use of new technologies as a tool for learning. All teachers teach four sections and serve as an advisor to a cohort of students.

August 15 - June 30
Qualifications:
- Ability to teach Physics and other classes in the Science department depending on need.
- Encourages a culture of mutual respect and equitable practice
- Exhibits knowledge of student cognitive development and various learning styles
- Communicates effectively with students and families about classroom activities and student progress
- Demonstrates superior content knowledge
- Sets high academic achievement expectations
- Identifies and supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral learning needs
- Provides timely feedback and collaborates with faculty to offer specialized support
- Showcases student work within the community
- Scaffolds instructional activities that facilitate engaging and appropriate learning
opportunities - Differentiates instruction based on feedback, needs, and learning levels
- Creates relevant and authentic learning experiences
- Designs formal and informal assessments that measure student progress
- Bachelor’s degree needed (Master’s preferred)
- Open to being involved in competitive STEM, assisting in Science Olympiad or FIRST Robotics, or directing a club
