Middle School Math
Nichols School is looking for an experienced Middle School Math teacher to join our Middle School team for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Nichols Middle School, serving 5 th to 8 th grade students, seeks candidates who are enthusiastic about joining a collaborative teaching team, overseeing the academic and social growth of a group of advisees, and assisting in the overall school life at Nichols. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach various levels of math from 5 th through 8 th grade in our small school environment. Nichols School seeks a positive, enthusiastic, and proactive educator who is passionate about working with middle school students.
July – June Full-Time Exempt Nichols School - Position Description
Responsibilities:
● Plan and teach three to four sections of Middle School Math (5th - 8 th grades)
● Advise a group of 6-10 students within a grade-team/divisional framework
● Coach three seasons of Middle School athletics
● Create a classroom space that is differentiated, engaging, and responsive
● Integrate tools and technology as appropriate to support learning
● Identify and respond to the individual academic, social, and emotional needs of students, including learning differences, in collaboration with our Learning Specialist
● Attend scheduled division, grade team, and department meetings
● Participate in the traditions, culture, and events of the Middle School
Requirements:
● A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field
● Experience teaching in a middle school mathematics classroom
● Experience with pedagogy, student-centered learning, integrated curriculum planning, course design and delivery, and authentic measures of student learning
● A commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community with clear and practiced expectations that allows a multitude of perspectives to be heard and respected
