Class of 2021 Honored at Nichols School's 129th Commencement

On Friday, June 4, family, friends, faculty, staff and trustees came together with 85 members of Nichols School's Class of 2021 to celebrate the 129th Nichols School Commencement.

Head of School Christopher Burner delivered the opening remarks at his second Nichols School Commencement ceremony, welcoming families back to campus for this special event and congratulating the students as they look forward to a bright future.

Steven Hall '21
delivered the student address at Commencement. Hall shared his appreciation for the opportunities he received at Nichols and the support of the entire community. An eight-year Nichols student, Hall looked back fondly on the years he spent with his classmates, memories made, and how they will continue to embrace challenge throughout the work of their lives.

Three Upper School faculty members were selected to present speeches this year: history teacher and Service and Social Justice coordinator Kevin Powers, performing arts teacher Kristen Kelley, and English teacher Dr. Andrew Sutherland. The three all recognized the challenges that students, families, faculty and staff have collectively faced in recent years, but highlighted how the community has grown stronger because of these shared experiences to advance forward with confidence and determination.

Following the conclusion of the speeches, students received their diplomas as graduates of Nichols School.

Congratulations Class of 2021! We wish you all the best and hope to see you back on campus and in the community as alumni soon. A photo gallery and recording of the ceremony will be available for students and families at a later date.
